Privacy policy

Eli Coffee Co LLC (“Eli,” “we,” “us”) runs a coffee bar inside Ozwell Fitness in Carmel, Indiana, and sells drinkware online at elicoffeeco.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, buy from us, or contact us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

• When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and what you bought.
• When you contact us: your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
• When you sign up for emails: your email address.

Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our store platform (Shopify) automatically collects basic technical information: your browser and device type, IP address, approximate location based on your IP address, the pages you view, how you got to our site, and what you add to your cart. This is collected with cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies” below.

How we use your information

• To process, ship, and support your orders, including sending order confirmations and shipping updates.
• To answer your questions and requests.
• To send marketing emails, but only if you signed up. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
• To keep our website working, understand how it is used, and improve it.
• To measure our advertising and show ads for Eli on other sites and apps.
• To prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• Shopify, which hosts our store and processes payments. Shopify’s privacy policy: shopify.com/legal/privacy.
• Shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS, and DHL, to deliver your order.
• Email and text message providers, if you have signed up for our emails or texts.
• Advertising and analytics partners, as described in the next section.
• Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, when needed to run the business.
• Authorities or other parties, when the law requires it, to respond to legal process, or when it is needed to protect our rights, our customers, or someone’s safety.
• A buyer or successor, if the business is sold, merged, or reorganized.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Advertising and analytics

We may use advertising and analytics tools from companies such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (including Google Analytics and Google Ads), and TikTok. These tools use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, what you add to your cart, whether you complete a purchase, your IP address, and device identifiers. We use this to understand how our site is used, measure our ads, and show ads for Eli to people who have visited our site or who may be interested in what we offer. These companies may combine this information with other information they hold about you and use it under their own privacy policies.

Under some state privacy laws, letting these partners collect information for ads can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out as described below.

You can also limit ad tracking directly with these companies:

• Google: adssettings.google.com and the Google Analytics opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
• Meta: facebook.com/adpreferences
• TikTok: in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy, then Ads
• Many advertising networks at once: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org

Ordering ahead

Our “Order ahead” link takes you to eli.ozwellfitness.com. That ordering service is run by a separate provider, and its own privacy policy governs what it collects. This policy covers only elicoffeeco.com and orders placed with us directly.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores so that a site can remember things like what is in your cart. We use cookies that are needed to run the store and checkout, analytics cookies that show us how the site is used, and advertising cookies and pixels described above. Where our site shows a cookie banner, you can choose which of these to allow. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store, such as the cart and checkout, may stop working. Shopify’s cookie list: shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no common industry standard for responding to “Do Not Track” browser signals, so our website does not respond to them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the selling or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising in that browser.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. We keep other information only as long as it is useful for the reason we collected it, or until you ask us to delete it where the law allows.

How we protect it

Our store runs on Shopify’s secure platform, and checkout is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to your information to the people who need it to serve you.

Children

Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Texts

If you sign up for text messages, we will text you only with your consent. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time or HELP for help. Your consent to texts is not a condition of buying anything.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, and from texts by replying STOP.

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information;
• opt out of the “selling” or “sharing” of your information for targeted advertising; and
• appeal if we decline your request.

To make any of these requests, email help@drinkeli.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” You can also opt out of targeted advertising by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser or using the cookie choices on our site. We will need to confirm your identity before acting on most requests, and you may use an authorized agent. We respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will explain the result. We will not charge you more, give you worse service, or otherwise treat you differently for using these rights.

We do not use your personal information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and by Shopify in the countries where it operates.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will make that clear on our website.
